Aerosol cans must withstand internal gas pressure, and the strength of the material is crucial. The basis of tinplate sheet is steel, which itself has high strength and rigidity and can withstand large external impacts and internal pressure.
Unlike iron and steel, tin will not rust in the air. This is because tin can form a dense protective film of tin oxide (SnO2) on the surface. This oxide film has good stability and corrosion resistance, and can effectively prevent air and moisture from further corroding the tin material.
